Greeting friends, I am so excited to share about an amazing partnership with my friends over at ControlledChaos.fun! Starting February 18th, 2019, I will no longer be blogging here on my personal ministry blog. Instead, you'll find me over on the Controlled Chaos Blog!
Over the last number of years I have been working away at building and growing my own ministry resource site; complete with blog and materials to share. If you have been following the progress, you know that the site has evolved and changed a lot over the years. But in 2015, as I took a role at my current church, I started working to build a serious site, StudentMinistryToday.com. While I still worked to figure out exactly what the site looked like, I set my sites on creating a stable site to share my experiences, thoughts, and resources. By the end of 2018, StudentMinistryToday.com was up and running, and I was happy with how things were finally shaping up.
After attending the National Youth Workers Convention in St Louis, MO, in November of 2018, I was all the more determined to start 2019 with big plans for the blog and website. I spent a couple of weeks creating a clean, clear vision and plan for what I wanted to accomplish with a the goal of StudentMinistryToday.com going full steam ahead just after the Christmas and New Year holiday.
But then something unexpected happened. Just before the new year, I received a quick call from Justin Herman, of the Controlled Chaos Podcast, a newer podcast that focused strictly on Junior High Ministry. A couple of days later we reconnected and it became official, no more StudentMinistryToday.com.
As it turns out, Justin was looking for a new Blog Manager for the new Controlled Chaos Blog. Still in it infancy, Justin needed someone who could jump in and become the face and heart of the blog. He had visited the StudentMinistryToday.com and thought my passion and vision would align with what he was hoping for in regards to the new blog. The only condition was, if I were to take over as the Blog Manager, I would have to stop working on StudentMinistryToday.com.
I thought and prayed about it, and decided the opportunity to work with Justin and the Controlled Chaos folks was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Justin offered me the freedom to be as creative and innovative as I wanted. And as a listener of the podcast, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this young and growing ministry.
so what will happen to the blog?
So what will happen to the blog? Well, a couple of things.
StudentMinistryToday.com and the blog side of the website are no more. I will no longer post articles here. All new content will be posted at ControlledChaos.fun. I will also go back into my archives and pull my favorite and most read blogs to be retooled and reposted for the Controlled Chaos blog. This site, as you may have already noticed, will transfer back to www.JayHigham.com.
Instead of hosting my blog, JayHigham.com will become a bio site with information about coaching, speaking, consulting, and youth ministry training. You will be able to find videos of my speaking and teaching opportunities, along with contact and booking information. I will be working on this revamp over the next couple of months.
If you work with Junior High Ministry, you will want to check out ControlledChaos.fun! It really is an awesome resource for all things relating to Junior High Ministry!
But I want to thank you for all of your support over these last couple of years. And please, come find me, along with a talented team of youth workers at the new, Controlled Chaos Blog!
